TRADITIONAL MEDITERRANEAN VILLA IN JÁVEA
Look out to sea from a watchtower. This phrase captures philosophy of the architecture in this town. Built in a prime location in Jávea, it is set out on the highest part of the plot. Access is gained through a tunnel that runs lenghtwise through the round stone base that functions as a support for the entire building.
As it should be in a Mediterranean-style home, the entire living experience is defined by light: spacious, interconnected areas bathed in light are the keystone of the project, which creates warm, welcoming atmospheres through architectural details such as the vaulted ceilings which are typical of traditional Levantine architecture.
The villa has a rectangular floor plan, broken by the access area mounted diagonally above it. It shows one more reserved face and another that opens onto the garden, creating interaction between the indoors and outdoors and constant interplay with the water. The views from various points around the house are intentionally directed outward, where the swimmnig pool is also located, using the slope of the land to provide an illusion of merging into the sea.
